Job vacancy: Passionate, independent chef

Job description
We are Japanese restaurant Shizen in Vianen and we are looking for a passionate, independent chef to join our kitchen team.
Are you a chef and at your best in the kitchen? As a chef, you feel responsible for preparing and plating dishes and dish components. You work under the supervision of our head chef, but you can also run the kitchen on your own. You will also work together with your fellow chefs and supervise kitchen assistants when necessary. You will work according to fixed instructions regarding ingredients, recipes, working methods, and presentation. You will work on weekends and be available during the day and in the evening. Working hours and schedules are flexible.
What are your responsibilities:
-Selecting, preparing (washing, cutting, mixing, etc.) and cooking dishes according to recipes;
-Performing interim checks (doneness, taste, color, etc.) and making adjustments where necessary;
-Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene;
-Cleaning the work environment, kitchen equipment, and workstations on a daily basis;
-Reporting technical defects and resolving simple malfunctions;
-Providing input on the composition and modification of menus, menus, and methods.
Job Requirements
-You take initiative independently and act in a solution-oriented manner.
-You work with conviction and dare to take responsibility.
-Previous work experience as a chef is an advantage.
-MBO-3 working and thinking level
-Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques;
